how does each store's clothes run?
I've been having a hard time shopping for maternity clothes because I find I'm in between sizes. I was a 6-8 pre-pregnancy, and that translates into between a Small and a Medium in maternity clothes. I thought my safe bet would be to go with M, but when I went to Motherhood, everything in M was way too big, so I wound upgoing with small pants. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues so I thought maybe people could chime in about their experience as to whose clothes run big and whose run small. I made a list of some of the top maternity designers, so let's see what people have to say. Feel free to add any designers I missed.
Motherhood- runs big (bought Small) Pea in the Pod Gap Old Navy Kohls H&M Mimi Maternity Target (Liz Lange)- runs a little big (bought Medium, but it's a little too big)

Re: how does each store's clothes run?
I found that motherhood ran a little small for me...I was a 14-16 pre-pg, and I tried on the XL and was worried they would be too small in a few weeks. I tried on the 1X in the plus sizes...they were way too big.
In Gap, I found these to be much better...I bought the XL. In Old Navy also...although Old Navy ran a little bigger than the Gap.
ETA: I haven't tried Target yet.
Also...Sears was pretty true to size.

Re: how does each store's clothes run?
I'm in the same boat. 6-8 pre-pregnancy. I went to look at maternity at target but I didn't want to buy any now becasue it all really didn't fit properly. I figure if my regular clothes fit for the time being, why not wait. Unless I pop in the next month, I plan on making it through April without having to buy any - make use of last springs clothes. And then reevaluate the situation in May. I just don't see the need to buy now, if I don't really need yet. More time = save more $ = more cute outfits to buy in May

Re: how does each store's clothes run?
i am tiny but have a big behind...
on top pre-preg i was a 2-4 petite, on bottom 6-8 petite. i found at motherhood for pants i definitely needed the mediums, even though early on i could fit into the smalls. now approaching 32 weeks even the mediums are a little snug . tops are torturous because i have no boobs, and i have yet to buy much for spring (but i am in desperate need).
my sister got me 2 sweatsuit lounging around the house type outfits for the winter, 1 from old navy, 1 from target. the old navy was a small on top and medium on bottom. the small top is now too small (although it was perfect in the beginning) and the pants fall off because they are the ones that sit below the belly. the target outfit was a medium and that still fits fine...
my favorite pants my mom found at marshalls, totally hit or miss at that store...

Re: how does each store's clothes run?
I too wore a 6-8 pre-preg. Here is what I have purchased and from where: Target (Liz Lange) Tops Small Kohls Tops and bottoms (Capris in Cotton and Jean material) Tops were a small, Capris were either a medium or an 8 (don't remember how they run) Old Navy Bought all pants in a Mediums and I am hoping toe eventually grow into them! They are all really big on me but what are you going to do! Motherhood Bought pants in a Medium. Like Old Navy, I am hoping to grow into these too!

Re: how does each store's clothes run?
Motherhood and Mimi seem to run big in pants for me. Kohl's pants also run big on me. Gap pants seem to run small though (pre-PG I'm a size 0 Long but in Gap maternity I'm up to a size 6!). Sometimes the tops run small, but for the most part all of the stores are pretty true to size in tops for me (I started out with a small chest though ).
