How does one get a URL and create a website?

I'm sure some of you have done this.

I really would like to find a way to show all the sewing I can do and hopefully get some clients. I make Window Treatments, pillows, table skirts, etc., and recently I started making dog clothes. I don't want to be giving out my e-mail address to anyone who admires my dog's little vest. Would it be terribly hard to create a website? I don't want anything too fancy, just a way to show basic pictures and have a way to communicate with anyone with questions.
This has been something I've thought about for a long time. I would love any suggestions or advice you have.

I just did this!

I went through freewebs.com (thanks to the BEST Mom ever - lorich) and purchased a domain from there.

You can then edit your site through freewebs
