How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I'm sleeping in 30 minute intervals because the pins and needles get painful and wake me up. How do you sleep on your side and avoid this?? OUCH!

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I sleep with a pillow between my arms-sort of like my head rested at the top with arms around the pillow--so all of your body weight isn't on one arm.
I've always been a side sleeper

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I'm not having an issue with my arms (probably because I'm a side sleeper anyway) but now that I'm 36 weeks I'm waking with hip pain. Can't stay on one side for too long, poor Dh gets bounced around every time I flip over to the other side

I hug the top of the body pillow, and never had this problem - maybe try that!

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I have been waking my DH up every morning because I end up dropping my cell phone (thats what I use for my alarm) because my hands are completely numb. I get up about 3 hours before him so needless to say, he is never happy about it...

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I had a tough time with the pins and needles too for awhile. I use a body pillow, and two pillows for my head. I hug one of the head pillows, so that my shoulder rests on the other one. Not sure if this is what fixed it or not, but it got better over time and doesn't happen anymore.
Ditto on the hip discomfort and rolling around a lot at nite now ladies, lol. It's always something new!

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
Nothing has worked for me. Not only do my arms fall asleep but I get the worst pain in my hips.
I've reverted to sleeping on an incline so that I can sorta lay on my back, but I'm on about a 45 degree angle.

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I have always been a side sleeper, but it was always my right side. I am having so many problems trying to sleep on my left!!
But like many of the others said...I hug a pillow...this helps keep my arms out from being directly under me and getting numb.

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I've always slept on my side so it hasn't been a problem for me. Being pregnant I use a lot of pillows and body pillows all around me.

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I hug the pillow and I don't have any arm problems. I do, however, have a ton of problems with my hips killing me! At first, my shoulders hurt a lot, but for some reason that went away.

Re: How does one sleep on their side without their arm falling asleep?
I sleep with a stuffed animal between my arms/chest and a small pillow between my legs. Always have.
I usually sleep on my stomach, but when I turn on my side, that's my standard position. Something about having the stuffed animal between my arms (really boobs) helps stop the dead arm thing from happening.
I'm sure a body pillow would work the same way.
