how does this sound?
I have to write a letter to my parents telling them that I will be leaving earlier than expected. Does this sound ok? Should I change anything? I need to send it out tomorrow!
TIA!
Dear Parents and Guardians:
I have had a wonderful time being your child’s teacher. As you all know, my husband and I are expecting our first child at the end of the month. It has been my intention to teach until my due date. Unfortunately at a recent visit to my doctor, I was instructed to stay off my feet until the baby arrives. My doctor has advised this he feels that the baby will make his or her appearance before my expected due date. Both my husband and I are excited about the news and cannot wait until our bundle of joy arrives. My last day will be Friday, February 3, 2006.
I was looking forward to spending a few more weeks with your children. I have enjoyed watching them discover the wonderful academic and social experiences kindergarten provides. I am proud of each one of my students and marvel at their enthusiasm for learning and the growth they have made this year.
I am happy to hand over my class and classroom to Mr. Tom G. I have great confidence that he will provide an outstanding experience for your children academically and socially. The children already feel comfortable with Mr. G, which will ensure a smooth transition.
Thank you for your understanding. I wish you all a very happy and successful remainder of the school year. It has been a pleasure working with you.
Sincerely,
Lora S....

"My doctor has advised this he feels that the baby will make his or her appearance before my expected due date."
This sentence is awkward...i think you missed the word "because"...My doctor has advised this because....or you need a semicolon after the word "this"
everything else sounds great

Re: how does this sound?
As a teacher I feel that you don't need to be so specific as to why you are going out early. I think you can just say due to doctors orders your last day will be Friday. I know it is a hard letter to write. Good Luck and best wishes!

Re: how does this sound?
I think it's a good letter, I agree that you don't need to be so specific, you can just say that my doctor advised me to begin my leave early. Good luck!

I think this is a little too much info....
I would take that sentence out...and where its says both my husband and I are (leave out excited about the news) excited and cant wait for our little bundle of joy arrives... (or however you worded it)

Do you mean March 3? If you really mean Feb. 3, you only have 2 days with them, not a few more weeks.
