how early can you take hpt ?

sorry i am sure this question has been asked but i am so tired....my af is not due until the weekend/mon but...
is it too early to take hpt ?

depends which one you have. I think there's one that you can take up to five days before you get your period. I forget which one that is. But I tested too early and got a negative, then a week later, when AF just never arrived, I was like, ok, time for another test!
Hell, if you want to test, go for it, but just know that if it's negative, it's not necessarily accurate.

I got a BFP 9 days before my period was due.

I got my first BFP on Tuesday morning, which was 4 days before AF was due.

I am CD26 ...i am unusually tired, that I want to crawl into bed.
I am tempted to get the HPT. (but not sure if I can handle being disappointed, too)
What kind is best for early detection ?

First Response says that it can detect 4 (i think - could be 5) days before your period is to begin. I read that it's the most sensitive.

I think first response is the best. I got a bfp at night 4 days before my AF was due and I got a faint bfp on ept with first morning urine 4 days before AF due. If you're worried I recommend you use first morning urine.

Just so you dont get discouraged, I took a test the day my period was due, and got a negative. But I realized that was because I ovulated a week late, therefore pushing everything back a week. My period was due on a Weds and I got a positive on the Sunday after that. Good luck!
