i was about 24-25 weeks, which was almost late, since it takes the furniture a while to arrive depending on the furniture/place. i would have it ordered by 21-22 weeks.

My parents are buying us the furniture and my dad is very superstitious about ordering it and getting it too early and wants to wait longer . . .

14 weeks. I'm having it delivered on Tuesday I'll be 31 weeks and the changing top for the dresser somehow still isn't in.

I was 15 weeks and it won't be in until the end of May. They said it takes 4 months to come in.

You can always order and see if they will hold it till the baby comes. Sukons in Ozone Park will hold it for you.

I ordered mine at 22 weeks and was told that it will take 12-16 weeks. I wish i ordered it sooner. In my opinion it is better to have it ordered even if the room isn't ready. I am stressing because I wanted to have the furniture in by April because baby is due June 2.

I too wanted to wait until after 20. I'm 21 weeks 1 day and just ordered over the phone two minutes ago!  I've been looking for a couple weeks, Bellini, BBB, BRU... went to Behr's with my mom last week and found what I love. Discussed it with DH and ordered today!
Could take 8-14 weeks. I'm due July 4th. Delivery is arranged for early June.
My cousin had her furniture delivered and room painted just waited to put the crib together until after her DD was born. That may be an option your dad would comprimise on.

I am almost 23 weeks and we ordered our furniture yesterday. Behrs said it should be in by April. We will probably have it delivered at the end of April before my shower in May.

Maybe . . . The set I want is from JCPenney's and it may deliver quickly, but then some pieces are on backorder, and it is a popular set, so backorders tend to get pushed back. Also, they are having a sale right now.
It is soon- I will hit 18 weeks on Sunday, but I am worried about running into issues and there is always a chance of things cominmg damaged and needing to be sent back . . . .

We ordered ours at 14 weeks because we heard it could take a while to come in. Turns out, our set arrived a week and a half later! So, now at almost 17 weeks, we have all the furniture set up and ready to go!

the one i like is on backorder EVERYWHERE until 4/21, when I'll be 24 wks. It says it ships next day though.
