How far apart do the contrations need to be before you call?
My doctor said 5 minutes apart for 3 hours.....that seems a little too close for me.

Re: How far apart do the contrations need to be before you call?
My doctor orginally told me to call when they 5 min apart for 1.5 hours. I was in labor from 6am to 1pm with contractions 7-8 min apart. They were 5 min apart for maybe 45 min during that period.
I just called and the assistant told me to just go to the hospital. When they checked me out I was already 4.5 cm dialated.

I was told the 4-1-1 rule by my birthing coach and my doctor agreed - 4 minutes apart, 1 minute long for an hour...

My Dr. told me when they were 4-5 minutes apart to call. They didn't tell me that I had to wait an hour...
ETA: Are you having any?

Nope, not yet just thought 5 minutes apart for 3 hours was a long time.

Re: How far apart do the contrations need to be before you call?
Our childbirth class said they should be 5 min apart for an hour. They can't vary like 5 min then 8 min then 5 min.......in that time youare supposed to do things to see if they are false contractions like drink water, take a shower, walk........if they still don't go away then it's time.
