How far before 1st bday did you take pics?
If you took them, did you take them beforehand so you had them for invite or party? Or did you wait until DC was officially one?

We did them about a week or so before but we didn't use them for the invitation.
eta: I did use the pictures for the thank you card though

Yeah, we didn't use them for the invitation either. We did use them for thank you cards.

Ours were 1 month ahead since DD's B-Day is also Christmas Day. We did a family shot, a holiday shot, and a B-Day shot. She changed 3 times. I would have done them closer, but we needed the time to get the photo holiday cards made from JcPenny.
