How far in advance did you get your actual closing date

On our contract, we have the date on or about Oct. 15, but it can go until Nov. 15 with no penalty. We still haven't heard anything about when the closing will actually happen (so I'm guessing obviously not happening on the 15th!), but I just wanted to know how far in advance did you get the actual date of your closing? TIA!
(We already have our mortgage commitment and everything, so I don't think it's being held up at all from our side.)

We got it one week before or maybe 10 days before the actual date.

I think we found out the actual date about a week before we closed. We had some issues coordinating everyone.

If you have your committment letter and everything, I would find out what the hold up is. You should be ready to go unless there is a title search problem.

We found out an approx. date the day we had an accepted offer; it was confirmed the week before when everything was in place & everyone knew all necessary paperwork etc. would be ready.

We were shooting for an on/around date but didn't get confirmation until maybe 3 days before

Our sell date is Oct 1 and buy date Oct 15...So we have to close by Nov 1! Looks like we are shooting for Oct 30 and 31...But who knows! Nobody tells us anything..we are just the lowly seller and buyer! I hate this process.

We had an approximate date about 6 weeks out, and it just didn't change. But I don't remember how far in advance it was actually confirmed.

We had about 5-7 days notice of our closing date.

we had an on or about date and closed on that actual date but didn't get confirmation till 3 days before! so don't assume - ask!

Thanks everyone for your replies! My DH actually just spoke with our agent who said there is still no definite date yet, but seems like it could be sooner, rather than later. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Our closing date changed 3 times. We had 3 days notice

Our date is set and has been since about the beginning.
The sellers requested an earlier date a few weeks ago, which works better for us, so we gave the dates that work for us and haven't heard back yet I need to know for work time off purposes!

We are going into cntract this week and they want to close Nov 15th? I don't see how this will be possible, I want to go Dec 1st, but I hear it's between 45 & 60 days, but if it's held up b/c of them then you shouldn't have a penalty
