Greenport is on the North Fork and Hamptons are on the South Fork

Yea, depending on what Hampton, it is pretty much a hike.

It usually takes my in-laws about 45 minutes to get from Greenport to Southampton.
ETA: Depending on traffic....

If you are on the south fork you could take the Shelter Island ferry across. Is this what you mean?

Yes, you can take the Shelter Island ferry from Sag Harbor. I personally think it takes longer. I would just drive, unless it's a Sunday evening, then the ferry would be the best bet.

About 45 mins. It's not a bad ride at all but you should look into the ferry.

I live in Southampton.... the best way to Greenport is to take the Shelter Island Ferry, you could drive around, but the traffic is terrible... the ride on the ferry and the drive across Shelter Island is very enjoyable
