I think its only like a half hour or so. A friend of mine went to college there and when we went up to visit, we went to Cooperstown one day.
So you can definitely drive there. I don't remember it being a long drive at all.

I saw a post about Oneonta and got so excited (went to college there)! It's about 20 miles, so like the pp said probably 30 mins or less.

We stayed in Oneonta last weekend when we went to Cooperstown!
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Oneonta (GORGEOUS hotel, and nearly brand new), and it took about 1/2 hour to get to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Any other questions, just ask--we just got back yesterday!

i went to school in oneonta too!!! i love it there and miss it so much. i'm actually going to my girlfriend's shower there this weekend. she lives in morris and works in cooperstown. its about a half hour but its a great drive!!
