How funny...little awkward

A call came in about a document that my boss needed to sign. It has been sitting waiting for her to sign it but she hadn't gotten to it yet.

the person who send the document called me and was very pushy and rude. I told my boss about it and she called her on it! I get a call from her apologizing. I told her that I understand she was under pressure to get it done..etc.. and don't worry about it.

My boss sent an email telling her that she didn't need to have an attitude toward me since it was her fault she didn't sign it. The woman wrote back and apologized to my boss. She told her, "don't apologize to me, apologize to my assistant."

Basically, this much more senior person in our legal dept had to apologize to me for acting like an azz...

it was a bit uncomfortable I didn't think my boss would call her on it.

as usual she is great. I just never expected her to do that. i thought it would just be a fleeting thought and we would go on.

I guess she wanted to back me.

Also, there was a dinner I arranged last night that I think she wanted me to attend and she forgot to tell me to include myself. Maybe she felt bad...I don't attend most dinners but sometimes I do...this one I should probably have been included in. (ok, that wasn't English)

and DH wonders why I work so late for her..when someone has your back, you work hard for them!
