How I spent my day off by aliasPook

35 weeks pregnant-

Went to bed at 12am after I prepared DH's 2 PBJ sandwiches, pretzels and Vitamin Water...

I woke up at 7 and waited for Jules to get up at 8. Jules got up at 8.10, DH came home at 8.20 from work.

I fed her breakfast, I fed him breakfast. I took a shower at 9 and told DH to have her dressed by the time I came out. I left at 9.30 to drive to the Bronx for mitabtrfly's cradle with Jules in the backseat and gave my DH a so needed rest from working 12-8...

I got home at 11.30 and he was hungry, so I prepared Jules' lunch and ran to Subway beacsue that is what he was craving today. I handed him the bag through the car window, told him to make sure she ate and I ran to the DR.

Had no wait at all, was out in 9 minutes-a record considering a night appt takes an hour and a half and called him as I was leaving to tell him I was on my way home. He tells me ok, hurry-Jules needs to be cleaned up. I hung up on him and drove home really annoyed. . . oh, while I was in the dr-the mother of Twiggy who was now in the waiting room as I was leavign asked me what week I was in and then told me I was carrying big... thank you! Chat Icon Some people have no class.

Ok, get home at 1 completely aggravated at DH and the fact I was pretty much called fat-and I find a naked Jules covered in sauce. DH is watching TV and she in in her High Chair in the adjoining room watching TV and still playing with her food. I clean her up and I give her an ice cream cone because I had promised her one earlier in the day when I told her I was off. It is what she said she wanted to do-get ice cream.

I casually ask DH to go to BRU with me to get teh mattress. He says we will go by himself next week one day when he doesn't have Jules-like he had her today really????? I tell him that the coupon will have expired by then. He says, ok, I will go this week... I say forget it, I am goign to go today. He says ok, I am goign to sleep-no attitude, totally dead serious. THis was a conversation, not an argument. I would not have been mad had he watched her this morning when I went to the Bronx-ir if he didn't tell me to hurry home when I was at the dr to clean her up...but now I am really really po'd.

I leave at 2.30 for Lindenhurst-SweetCin-for the newborn nipples-and I drive back on Sunrise hitting BRU and carrying a mattress around the store, then Dollar Tree then food shopping at Waldbaums. I get home, make Jules dinner and we have the Carpet Picnic I promised her-another special Mommy-on Julz thing she wanted because I was off... it's now 8 and she is curled on the floor tyring to fall asleep-but I assume she will have nightnares bc the Bearenstain Bears talked about the UGLY GREEN MONSTER and it's hard to explain to a 28 month old what jealousy is. SHe keeps talking about the monster...

So once she falls asleep, I have to make Chicken Cutlet Parm for DH for dinner when he gets up at 11 and for tomorrow's lunch. So I guess I will be up till 11.

How do you re-program a man? THis is why he only gets a 9 on the relationship board.

Men stink sometimes.

Honestly, plan a day for yourself and make him swim!!!!

Because I work pt and my dh spends one day a week caring for my son, it was sink or swim....and imagine, he learned to swim. Sometimes my son looks utterly riduculous in the clothes dh picks, but its worth it. Today my dh performed the biggest feat of all. He took my son food shopping alone!!!!!

Sorry you had such a rough day. Go enjoy a spa day. Chat Icon Write a list of what your daughter needs and make sure its available, but don't lift a finger to help....just walk out the door. Chat Icon

(Easier said than done)

I say stop doing things for him!!! He's expecting too much and you're doing too much! He should be making some of the meals! And helping out!

Act like him for the day and see if he likes it..I only had to do this once with DH and he got the point..FORTUNATELY for me this is the 2nd marriage for both of us and he learned the first time around what NOT to do in a relationship..Overall my hubby gets a 10!

Re: How I spent my day off by aliasPook

I told him to make himself a TV and a beef patty. I was shot-but I will have to make it tonight so the chicken doesn't go bad. At 11-he asked me where he can find the TV dinners, in the freezer freezer or the fridge freezer. Then he woke me up by turning on the light at 11.30. I cursed him out-his was reply, "I'm sorry-I'm sorry!" and he lowered the dimmer. I was shot. Jules doesn't nap and slept twice yesterday in the car so she didn't go down til 9. And just as expected, she had a nightmare. Her schedule is off plus her new found monster nightmares, so she was up at 4.38 and I stuck her in my bed. Then she wanted warm mook-then her princess pillow and taggie blanket. She did say thank you though...Chat Icon ...so I didn't mind.

What is wrong with men? Honestly? I think maybe once in 28 months he has heard his daughter his daughter crying and gotten up to get her. Or he will nudge me and say she is crying and I get her. I know he is capable of running the house, I have left the two of them alone for 8 days and for 6 days when I was away for work. I have done this to him and he swore that if I gave him another baby, he would take total control of Jules and I would primarily care for the new little guy. I guess I have 37 days till he starts. But I guess it won't include the housework.

I could understand if I didn't work and I had Jules all day and he worked, but being a mom is a full time job, plus being the housekeeper and working in a full time job which I spend hours at night answering emails... I am burnt!

So I am going to go get Jules her milk and breakfast, lay out her clothes so she matches and make him a bagel for breakfast for when he comes in, get dressed and get raedy for work. WHy am I doing this? Because I don't need the stress of-"What will she wear? DId you feed her yet? What can I make for breakfast? What can I make me for breakfast? What should I put on her, pants, shorts of skirt?"

Thanks everyone... ttyl.
