How long?

How long does it take to hear back from a district after an interview? I had an interview on Friday and I thought I did really, really well.Chat Icon I already know I didn't get the job I guess. In my heart I know I would have heard from them by now, but what is the norm? Thanks Chat Icon

Re: How long?

What kind of interview was it? Like, was it the initial one? Because if they are interested beyond that, they will call you back for a demo lesson.

It was the initial oneChat Icon No call for a demo. Should I expect a "thanks but no thanks" letter in the mail. UGH! I hate this whole process!

You never know. You might get a call for a demo, you might get a letter. Try and stay positive - but send your resume elsewhere, just in case!

I agree that you just never know.

Personally, I was hired over the summer. The hiring process was faster for me because they didn't have the time to waste. Also, most of my friends who got hired as teachers got their jobs over the summer too. Seems like the most common times that people without experience get hired is over the summer because they hire the more experienced people at the beginning of the process.... Us newbies get hired when they are desperate! Chat Icon

But still, you NEVER KNOW!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Good luck!

Re: How long?

I went in for an interview...got called that day and was asked to do a demo lesson. Less than 2 weeks later the chair of the school that hired me came to the school I was student teaching at to observe and hire me!

Re: How long?

I think it depends on how quickly they need to fill the position and how many applicants they are considering. Don't give up hope yet. I started the interview process for a perm. sub. position in December, got called for a demo about a week later, and then didn't get a call for the next interview for about a month. Then in February I was finally hired. Just be patient and good luck!
