(we waited 3 months to try again) the 2nd time we actually tried, we got PG. The first time, our timing was off.

Re: How long after a M/C did it take you to conceive again?
I'm the walking, talking icon of how quickly you can get pregnant after an m/c - one week after my m/c I conceived! There is research showing that a woman is highly fertile right after an m/c, though most doctors recommend waiting a cycle or two, usually for emotional reasons

Re: How long after a M/C did it take you to conceive again?
Bxgell2, I just had a miscarriage on Friday and the doctor told me to wait 2 cycles to try again. My cycles are so irregular (54 days) that I dont want to wait almost 4 months to try. If you don't mind me asking (you don;t have to answer) did you have a D & C. If so, do you think you are more fertile because you are "cleaned" out. Thanks.

Re: How long after a M/C did it take you to conceive again?
I am so very sorry you have to go through this !!!!! Miscarriages are awful things to experience :(
D&C's don't make you more fertile, they actually lessen your chances of conceiving right away. You can end up with scar tissue from a D&C. Miscarrying naturally is much healthier for your body actually. It just picks up where it left off, as soon as the tissue is cleared out. Make sure get an u/s to confirm that all tissue is clear, when ttc. You can ttc, as soon you ovulate, hun.

I miscarried naturally, at exactly 6 weeks. I only bled for a few days and it was really just like having AF, only a week or two late, except that I passed a little bit of tissue. I did go to the Dr.'s office to get my blood drawn until my numbers went back to 0.
If you don't want to wait, talk to your Dr. about the reasons why he/she told you to wait. When I miscarried my Dr. told me to wait 2 cycles, but when I came back 2 weeks later pregnant, he told me the only reason why he told me to wait was (1) to make sure I would be ready emotionally and (2) back in our mother's day, doctors *thought* that conceiving so quickly after a micarriage raises your chances of miscarrying again, though there's absolutely no statistical proof of that. And, in fact, at least with a natural miscarriage, the evidence shows that a woman is slightly more fertile. I would never recommend you go against your Dr.'s advice, but it's worth exploring a little more with him/her... good luck!
