I have to be honest- its finally starting to feel like home after over a year. In the beginning, we always had this feeling like we were living in someone else's home. It finally starting to feel like home!

It is starting to feel like home, sort of. I just keep looking around at everything I want to do and change. Plus watching HGTV, DIY, and TLC home shows don't help. I am always saying to DH we should do this or that. DH is like "we just did two months of renovations!!!!!!"Chat Icon

It's been seven months and we're getting there. For whatever reason we just can't get organized. I feel like we need to be on that show where they empty the entire contents of your house onto the lawn and force you to throw stuff out.

It doesn't help that we still have a good amount of work to do, small-ish things but there are many of them.

I dunno...

Moved in 4/2004

Brought our son home from the hospital 5/2005 was when it truely felt like a home and could sneak down our hall and find him sleeping peacefully in our crib.

We closed on 12/12. Slowly moved in our breakables and Kitchen stuff over the next 2 weeks on our own. Movers came on 12/27 with remainder of stuff.
We had a new years party on 12/31. I would say that day!
I never wanted to buy a house, I only wanted to buy a "home". The day we walked into the house, I knew it was the one. I felt at home right away.

for me it took about 3 months, for DH less. My son took a while to adjust because we lived in our townhouse so long. My stepdaughter said it didn't feel like home & then suddenly she loved it & said it was perfect. We made sure our kids rooms & bathrooms were complete before we moved in.
We lived with a constant home improvement mess for seceral months & we still have tons of projects to do but for the most part things are finished. I'm no where near as organized as I once was....my basement storage area is shameful.

I think I felt this was home the moment we bought it. I just knew it was right and had a vision of how I want things in our home. On on 3 month anniversary of owning our home (this Saturday) we will finally have our couch and recliner. Our new kitchen table and chair set is expected in about 2 weeks.
