How long are sippy cups good for?
I realized last night that two of ours are about a year old.
They are the First Years ones, molded plastic...they LOOK fine, but I was wondering if they should be replaced...
TIA!

Re: How long are sippy cups good for?
I would get rid of them. Sippy cups are so gross to me. Theres all sorts of crevices for gunk to get stunk in. It actually skeeves me. I started using the zoo pals throw away sippys. Same thing...totally disposable. When they are on sale they can be totally worth it. Ive paid about 1.70-2.00 for like 12. Not saying to do this permanently. Keep the NEW sippys you get but switch between.

Nope...not leak proof. BUT dd isnt taking them to bed with her or shaking it so much anymore. Regardless, I'd restock.

Re: How long are sippy cups good for?
For us, the spout ones are constantly getting frayed from him chewing on them so I replace them CONSTANTLY! The straw ones I use for a longer time. But, if they are plastic, I would def. replace them after a year especially if you are using the dishwasher - but that is just me - I don't really have a good reason

Re: How long are sippy cups good for?
I would just inspect them for surface scratches. If there are any, replace them, in case there are any sort of chemicals that might leak out. If you don't see where water gets trapped anywhere in cleaning them, I don't see any hygiene problem. I would rather not use disposable sippy cups as we use so much that ends up in landfills as it is. What ones do you have that do not leak at all? Mine all leak but they are the ones we needed when DS was first learning.

These are the ones that don't leak, DS throws them, holds them upside down, everything. They are GREAT!
They look good, I may toss the 2 that about a year old and replace them (actually the ones above we don't have--teh Cars design!)
