How long before you finally felt "normal" again
After giving birth, how long did it take to feel like everything was back to the way it should be? (as far as your body, I mean).
I'm 3 months PP and STILL don't feel 100% back to normal! I had an episiotomy, and if I run (or sit down too hard ) I feel pressure in the perineum area, like it's still not back to it's normal state/strength.
At my 6 week visit my doctor said this is normal and eventually will go away. When is "eventually"?????

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
Its 13 months later, and I'm still trying to get back to normal physically and mentally! Really its been so hard for me, I don't know why? Usually I can loose weight very quickly but for some reason with diet and excersize its taking forever! I also feel like I'm in a cloud since I had my daughter, its a very big life change!

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
It took me a good 4-5 months. I too had an episiotomy and felt a lot of pressure in that area for a long time.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
I physically felt normal around 8 months pp. But overall it wasnt until around 12 months when I stopped EBF that I completly felt more normal. I still BF, but much less then before.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
Its almost 11 months and I think I've given up on "normal". Physically my body has morphed. I was overweight to begin with but everything shifted to places it didn't need to shift Mentally I actually am feeling worse than ever right now. I am starting to think I have late onset PPD or something. I don't know.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
I am 5 weeks PP yesterday and I feel good. Physically I'm at where I was before I got pregnant (even a few pounds lighter thanks to BF!) and everything is in working order!
Mentally, I'm getting there ... it's been rough for me emotionally more than physically, so that's been my major hurdle since giving birth.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
DD is 10 weeks old and as far as the episiotomy is concerned I don't feel soreness or pain anymore except that the skin is still very sensitive or raw sorry TMI so if I pee and it drips back it stings, but the actual soreness from sitting down or walking has been gone for sometime now so you should definitely be feeling better. Ofcourse I wouldn't say I feel "normal" b/c I definitely don't feel like my pre-pregnancy self. I agree with the other girls about the weight and BFing leaves me totally exhausted and drained all the time.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
I am 3 months PP, and I think i forgot what normal feels like
My episiotomy still aches sometimes, and is very very sensitive still, and there are still some things going on down there that need to heal. I am starting to wean DD, so hopefully when the hormones die down, i will feel closer to myself again.

Re: How long before you finally felt "normal" again
I would say about 3-4 months but it was mostly the tiredness as I was EBF and DD was feeding 3 -4 times a night...she is still not sleeping through the night and I am still EBF but I dont seem to be as tired....
However I still dont feel normal when "doing the deed" things are definitely diffrent in that department both physically and emotionally....hoping when I stop B.Feeding things improve.
I dont know if you ever feel "normal" again..I think its a new type of normal.
