how long before you took your newborn out??
we snapped yesterday and took her to costco around 8ish (dh and i were tired of either one of us going or one sitting in the car w/ her!)- no one touched her or anything but then we felt like bad parents.....
when did you first take out your baby??

DS was six days old when we took him to my grandfather's grave for the first time....no germs there! 7 days old we went to my grandmother's houes and he was 10 days old when he first really went out in public, we went to BRU. We felt the same way you did.

About a week. Dr told us going out was ok, but not to bring her around large crowds for two months. So far I've been to plenty of family occasions and to the stores but only if i know i'm going to be in and out real quick.

we have been to our parents ....I havent taken him to stores yet but i am sure that is coming real soon..I cant stay in anymore and there is just so many walks around the neighborhood we can take...

Less than a week old. We went to look at houses and to the grocery store. I couldn't stay inside and no one said I had to. We just went about life as usual and just made sure people didn't touch her and made sure anyone's house we went to didn't have sick people there.

I Took Julia out for walks and drives, but I didn't take her into stores or restaurants till she was 2 months old, and even then I was nervous about doing so.

I didn't take DD out in public until she was 6 weeks and had her shots (my ped scared me too much). I took her to my parents/IL's and for walks starting at around 3-4 weeks.

We took her for a walk since day 6 (the day I was home from the hospital). We took her to a restaurant at 4 weeks . It was at 4:30 pm and it was pretty empty. The doctor told me as long as no one sneezed on her or put their hands in her mouth , she would be fine. She was.

We went for a walk around the block after about a week. We went to Walmart at about 3wks. Whenever we do take her out to stores we always put the hood up on the stroller so noone peaks in and breathes all over her

He was 2.5 weeks old when I brought him to BRU. I went at around 10am and it was empty. I needed some things so I went. That was around the same time I brought him out for walks aswell.

right away! we went for a walk at 6 days in the park (more of a waddle for me) and to BRU before she was 2 weeks. i didn't feel bad at all, in fact it was great to get out of the house in the nice weather. its not like i was passing her around to a bunch of strangers with the flu. just made sure no one touched her.
