I'm going on 8 months and I'm probably not going to wait much longer. My dr wanted me to wait until we've tried for a year, but I know we're going to have to go through fertility treatments because of my PCOS.

They say it's 12 months for woman under 35, and 6 months for woman over 35, but if you feel there may be an issue, then I wouldn't wait

Mine told me to come back after trying for 6 months if not pregnant yet.

Have an appointment for Sept 30th. Been TTC for 7 months. I am 40.

My RE said to come in after 6 months of trying with no results.

Age is a factor, when we started ttc, I was 28. My OB told me if nothing in 9 months (after my m/c) to come back. I did, we went for further testing and by 18 months, still no luck yet but we are seeing an RE due to some issues for DH.
Quickly approaching the 2 year mark in total TTC.

was at my ob 6 months doing timed intercourse when i knew we needed more help..so glad i went to a RE

if u have been trying for a while and feel like u want to go get checked out,go with ur gut

I went after 6 months but I was also not getting my period regularly (or at all) so I had to find out what was going on. (Turns out I had a thyroid problem).

we started not being careful in april

last month was my first month tempin

cause im pushing 36 i didnt want to wait till 6 months to see the obgyn so i went last month.

glad i did. they found some fibroids and i had to have some test done. i go back for a follow up next week. he did say if im not pregnant by oct that i would need dh to do a sa before they do more testing on me

Mine told me to give it 6 months. I didn't go and get checked out until the end of May and that's when all the tests were runned. DH and I were trying before May..but not really actively! We are now!!!!

so I guess 6 months is average . we started TTC last month , got my AF 2 days late this week, which never happens, I'm very regular, the only time I was ever (3 days) late was when I found out I was pregnant with my first, but I never took a test this time.
Anyway, I was thinking if I'm not pregnant next month then I'm going to see my OBGYN. I'm sure she'll think I'm crazy, but I can't wait for 6 months, plus I'm due for my annual visit anyway.

It varies on age. I was told to try for a year before seeing an RE, which is BS, it just feels like a lot of time was wasted. I know some women are told 6 months. GL!

I dont think dh is goin to wait till oct to get checked. To be honest i think sept might be my cuttoff. I think 5months is good for someone my age. Ill bring this up to the doc next week when i go for my follow up. Hope he agrees

After 9 months of trying on our own, we started all the testing, then started seeing an RE this January.

My OBGYN told me that if trying for 6 months unsuccessfully, and if I was over 35, then she would have sent me earlier.

I just turned 34, and we've been going to the RE for 8 months now.

I just made an app't with RE. My obgyn told me they don't do any testing at their offices.
I'm almost 39..have been trying for 4 months, actually got pregnant on the 2nd try but ended up with a miscarriage...now my AF's are all messed up..so i'm going to the RE to get checked out. I'm really not ready to start any fertility treatments, just want them to run tests for now.

We tried on our own for more than a year before feeling ready to seek the help of a RE. it was hard for both of us to accept making that decision.

I was temping and charting and OPKing the entire time so I knew I was Oing each cycle.
