Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
My daughter is a bit older...but she never really liked the bath when she was younger, so I'll answer for what I do now. I start the bath with washing her hair....after I wash the shampoo out of her hair, I start to drain the water. Then I condition her hair, and wash her body. Once that's over, she has time to play until the water is gone. Once the water is gone, the bath is over.

I've done 45 mins, but I put in warm water since it got cold. That was when he was sick and it was the only thing that made him happy.

Anthony, my 2 year old, LOVES the bath! He loves water in general. He goes under and swims in the tub. He is in there for a good hour sometimes. lol. i clean him first so when he is ready to get out he can just get out.

As long as they want to be in, they can stay. My 2 year old usually will stay in 10-15 minutes but my 4 year old will stay in up to an hour if I don't ask her to get out.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
DD would stay in the tub FOREVER She loves it. I let her stay in for at least 20 minutes but start definitely take her out no longer than 30 minutes. I know she is tired and needs to get to bed and mommy needs to get dinner on the table and things done around the house

Bath time lasts about 10 minutes.
I have both kids in at once, I wet them down, wash DD's hair, rinse it, put conditioner in, let that sit while I scrub done DS, then I scrub down the rest of DD, rinse them both, pull the drain and they have until the water drains out to play.
I'm almost all business at bath time.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
Not as long as she'd like I'm sure...
We both have our things. I sit and read a book on my nook or play on my phone, he'll read or play with his phone, we rotate after about 5mins or our butts are numb.
AJ (like me) prefers her water fairly warm (which is an issue with her ezcema I'm sure) so it stays warm a long while. We do warm it up as well (aka make more bubbles mama) from time to time.
Frankly we pull her out when we are fed up waiting on here. I don't think we've ever gotten to 30mins of non bathing time. But total bath has been 30min or more.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
I would let him play in there for as long as he wanted as long as he was playing nicely. DS has a short attention span in the bath. He usually plays for 15 min at most & then we soap him up.

same. DD is 14 months and she starts getting crazy after about 10 mins. She starts standing up and playing with the spout even though the tub is FILLED with toys So we get in play scrub scrub scrub and we are out!

This is what I do with my 21 month old. When the water and all the bubbles are gone she says bye bye bubbles and then all done...I give her a final rinse and she is out.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
DD is the same age as your DS, she doesn't last very long after she is clean and lets us know when she wants to come out. DS gets to play for a while, maybe 10-15 minutes after he is clean, and I only make him get out because I am bored

If I allowed her to, she would stay in all night! I say - start to finish, we are done in about 15 mins. Same as one of the above posters. Once her hair & body are washed, I start draining the tub. When the water is gone, bathtime is over.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
The most, an hour. He loves it. I keep addin hot water. When it was super hot last week, he didnt want to go outside. I filled the tub, and he was in there for about almost 1.5 hours. He was having a blast. I didnt care. I clean the bathroom, change out towels and go online. Win/win.

Loey would stay in there all night if I let him!
I think I usually try to get him out after about 30 minutes too!

Depends on how close it is to bedtime... anywhere from 5-20 minutes I guess.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
We let DS play about 10-15 min. It's mostly business though...get in, scrub down, get out.
I really can't wait until he can shower on his own.

I only let the kids play as a distraction while I wash them. 5 min max. I hate bath time!

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
It really depends on what is going on in the house. My 16 month old keeps trying to get up and walk around the bath tub and inevitably falls down, so we give her very quick baths. My 3.5yo loves baths and if we have time I'll let her play in there 30mins or so. If we're running late then I'll wash her and take her out almost immediately. She would stay in there forever though.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
10-20 mins tops. I hate bath time and he's not always fond of it either.
We have a smaller bathroom so it's uncomfortable to be in there and it's hard to reach him in the tub with the sliding doors we have.
So he plays while I was him up and then its out when I am done. Lately DH has been doing it so he's in there longer.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
Bath is about 10-20 minutes long. He would be in there all night if I let him. I just bathe him first then drain the water, rinse him off, then fill tub with clean water so he can play. Play time varies depending how late it is.

Re: how long do you let your toddler play in bath
DD doesn't stay in long at all. She likes the bath, but is constantly trying to climb out while I'm washing her. So once we are done she is out.
If she stayed put I would let her play awhile. I think 30 min is good.
