How long do you wait between races?
So yesterday I ran my 1st 1/2!
I have a hang-over, no leg soreness, so I must have trained enough for the run, but my tolerance suffered
I told myself that if I felt good after it (which luckily about 2 minutes after crossing the finish, I did) I do a 1/2 in Dec, benefiting Childhood Obesity programs in my area (important cause to me)
Is 2 months ok. I know this race I'll need to train even harder to tackle even more hills, & brrrrrrr!

How long do you wait between races?
Honestly I was doing one half just about every month at one point. That's plenty of time

You're going to do great because you're already conditioned

Re: How long do you wait between races?
That's sorta how I felt, I figured I could go back to my 7 mile runs for a few weeks then back to adding the few more miles,
I did hear this race's route is downhill the last 2 miles as opposed to yesturday's 2-3 miles uphill at the end!
I love that the cause & that my husband & girls would be there to cheer for me!

How long do you wait between races?
sounds like you've caught the bug!!
good for you for wanting to do it again!
it all depends on how fast you can recover. i'm slow and old... and i was hurt during my first half. i would not have been able to do another so quickly. but it sounds like you had an amazing race and it sounds like you're already recovering amazingly.
i say go for it

Re: How long do you wait between races?
I think 2 months is plenty of time. I did two races within 3 weeks and it was tough. Good Luck!

Re: How long do you wait between races?
Yeah I feel great! Although, figures my DH & I went out to eat afterwards to celebrate & I think I got food poisoning.
I can't wait to go for a short run & do weights tomorrow. No soreness at all.

How long do you wait between races?
What's great about half marathons is there is hardly any recovery time. As soon as you feel ready I think your fine to race. My first half I injured myself pretty bad, so I had to take 4-6 weeks off. If you're feeling good and without injury you really could start up whenever.

Re: How long do you wait between races?
I race every weekend, sometimes more than one race per weekend! Go for it! I would do something like {8-12-8-10-8-12-8-race} for long runs in between now and race. Good luck and congrats on completing your first half!!

Good tip on the mileage. I wasn't sure how to handle the long runs.

Re: How long do you wait between races?
Julz....curious, is there a reasoning to the miles you chose?
Just curious if there was a reasoning to the pattern.
