How long is a normal hospital stay??
for a vaginal birth???
C-section???
Does it have to do with insurance or is there a standard time frame??
Trying to figure out if I have the baby on Friday some time...when will I be coming home??

Had DS on a Wednesday at 10:36 pm via emergency c-section. I was discharged on that Sunday at 11 am. HTH

Vag birth: 2 days
C section: 4 days
I think this is standard hospital policy and only if there is complications with you, is your stay extended. I delivered Reilly vaginally and was out in 2 days, but she was in the NICU for 8 days.

I was in for 2 days after vaginal...and I heard it was 5 days after a c-section...that's at Good Sam.

This is true, though if you want to and are able you can usually get out in 3 days after a c (with clearance from your dr).

I had ds at 9 at night on Monday and was discharged on Wednesday around 1.
You get 2 nights in the hospital for vaginal any delivery before midnight counts as a night.
I believe it is 4 nights for c-sect

C section: 2-3 nights
with 1st C section i was out after 2 nights
with 2nd C section i was out after 3 nights (Due to a fever)

I have a c-section on the 7th around 9am. My doc said that i will be able to go home sunday night.

I had DS vaginally at LIJ on 12/30/08 at 12:03AM. I was discharged on 12/31 around 10AM. I was itching to go home though, they told me I could stay longer if I wanted to.

A friend had a c-section and went home after 3 days, but they had a nurse visit her at home because she "left a day early." She said that was TORTURE and WAS NOT worth leaving that day early. If you leave after 4 days, the baby stays the entire time, anyway, from what I understand.
