I think I had a few tabletop frames out right away from our old place, but I had major insecurity issues about hanging pics on the walls for a long time.

tabletop frames went up as soon as we had furniture (2 months). On the wall was probably the 4 month mark..

so far, still nothing after three years, but we are doing construction in every room and have very little furniture!!

I put some photos up on the walls right away from our wedding but, I didn't put up any artwork until we owned the house 5 months (and i'm still not done!)

It's been 3 yers and I just hung my first one about 2 months ago.
(well, not to mention pics that we just "thre up there" because there was a random hook  )

The weekend we moved in I displayed some pictures, but I am still waiting for prints from the Wedding to put the majority up.
I hung a Mirror on the wall because I knew were I wanted that to go, but as far as Art work I am waiting to get furniture so I can center is correctly on the wall, etc...

We've been living in our house for over a year and are in a similar situation. We have very little furniture too and I don't want to put holes in the walls until I know the placement of things.

photos were out asap...can't remember. hanging pictures i'm not sure of - the first probably went up after a month when i kept begging DH and the last just went up last week! (we've been in the house for 11 months.)
