How long would you be willing to wait in line to vote?

For some of the states that allowed early voting, there were reports of people waiting in line for 8 hours to vote. How long would you wait in line to vote?

Would you be willing to wait longer if you lived in a swing state?

Re: How long would you be willing to wait in line to vote?

I don't know...10-30 mins...

Today I walked in and voted...between DW and I, we were there no longer then 4 mins...and that was with getting instructions on how to use the machine since neither of us had voted in a very long time...

You shouldn't have to wait long to vote as i heard people waiting on line for hours...i'm sure these people have better things to do like work, sleep (if they are just getting off work), etc...

Probably an hour or so. Any longer and I'd get hungry or thirsty.

Re: How long would you be willing to wait in line to vote?

hmm, not sure. Personally 2 hours MAX would probably be my limit. I waited 30 minutes, but I was in a rush and because of a doc apt tonight, I didn't have the ability to go at night. I had to do it in the AM. From what I'm hearing though, the states with early voting have like no lines today.

As long as it was just me and not my son with me, I would wait as long as it takes.

Probably 15-30 minutes. I've been spoiled. I've voted in every election (with rare exceptions) for the last 18 years. I don't recall ever waiting in line for more than 15 minutes....

Re: How long would you be willing to wait in line to vote?

If there was a super long line I would probably leave and come back later and hope for a shorter line. If that wasn't possible, probably 30 minutes....if I lived in a swing state or was SUPER enthusiastic about one candidate it might be longer....

As long as it takes, not voting is NOT an option in my mind.

My DH is way too into his right to vote to ever allow either one of us to leave.

However long it takes, it takes.

Whatever time it takes. I know it seems like something that takes a "part of your day" but really we need to see that its a PRIVLEGE that we have in this country to vote---others around the world WISHED they had that right.

I have never encountered a line. Today I signed in, stepped to the side, watched the curtain opened and it was my turn. Maybe it's because I go right after school (around 3:00)?

I would have waited up to 2 hours. Luckily I didn't have to make that choice.

I'd wait as long as I needed to-- especially if I was in a swing state. These days you need to be prepared to wait for a long time-- it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

I agree - as long as it takes. You mean you'd just give up and walk away after a little while?
