How many bedrooms do you have? How are they used?

I was curious about those of us who will not be having children and what you use your home's bedrooms for?

We started with a small house - only 2 bedrooms - for various reasons. Affordability, neighborhood, etc. But we do have the intention of upgrading in less than 10 years.

In my next house, I really want my own room. DH needs his own office since he works from home. Then there's the master bedroom and another room would be nice for a guest room. If I had to, I could combine my office with a guest bedroom.

That's three to four bedrooms which is plenty for us, I think. Do you use your bedrooms for other things?

One is used as the master bedroom.
One is a fully equipped home gym.
One is an office we share.
The fourth is on the lower level and is set up as a guest room. It also happens to be the room where we do all of our folding / hang laundry to dry.

We have 3 bedrooms on the main level but we also have 2 rooms that could serve as bedrooms in the finished basement.

Main level is our TINY master bedroom, next is used for an office and the last room has no real design -just has a chair for reading, some bookcases and all the crap that accumulates. I guess maybe someday we'll get a guest bed for that room.

In the basement 1 room is for exercise equipment and the other room is a 'den' with a tv and bubble hockey table.

we have a tiny one story 2 bedroom house...
1 is used for sleeping..we have just enough room for some dressers and a fullsize bed right now Hope to squeeze a Queen in someday??

the other bedroom is my office...DH works from home in the attic..it looks like a serial killer's workspace...haha

in my dream house however, there will be 1 bedroom big enough for a King sized bed...we would each have our own office, i would love an art studio space and a workout room...i will keep dreaming.

We have 3 bedrooms (one of which is very small). We are renovating right now.
We will be using the small one as an office.
The medium one will be a tv room & guest room.
The large one is our bedroom.

Two bedrooms:

First is our bedroom and the second is a guest room/office/craft room

4 Bedrooms:

1- our bedroom
2- den w/computer, TV & my scrapbook desk
3- guest bedroom
4- gym with tv, workbench, elliptical, weights, etc

I wouldn't want to give up any of those rooms if we ever decided to have kids....we'd have to move lol

We have 3... master, an office and a guest bedroom (that only has a twin bed so most guests won;t even be able to stay there)lol

We have 4 bedrooms:

1. Our Master Bedroom
2. DH's Office
3. Guest Room (Lower level of the house away from the other 3)
4. EMPTY - Will eventually be for our children whenever we decide to have them

4 or 5 depending on how you look at it. The house was originally a farm ranch with 3 bedrooms on the main floor - a master with a half bath and two smaller bedrooms. The upstairs was finished into a master bedroom with a full bath and a "living room" when the previous owner's daughter, DH and baby lived upstairs. We dormered out the bedroom upstairs, added a much nicer bathroom too. So we now use the upstairs master bedroom/bath for ourselves. The extra room up there is just storage right now, but could be a bedroom, gym, or office. Downstairs we have two guest rooms and DH's office in the what were the original bedrooms.

I have 3... but we could use 4! That's really because the two "spare" bedrooms are so small (roughly 10x10 each). I'd love it if we had more room for workout equipment... if only we had a basement!

Back to the question: There's our bedroom, then one is a guest room and one is an office.

Two bedroom coop.
One is out bedroom

The 2nd is a guest room (futon type couch), has some workout equipment, and some misc, stuff we are too lazy to bring up to the attic

We also have 2 bedroom co-op. The larger one is our bedroom & the smaller one is supposed to be an office/guest room, but right now it holds crap.

Right now we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. Both bedrooms are used one is ours and the other is my fil's when he is in town. Our dream house would have 3 : a huge master bedroom, an office/ craft room and a guest room.

we have 3, and then a 4th room thats the size of a bedroom, but it has no heat run to it ( its in the basement) so it can't be used as a bedroom.
one is ours, one is a guest bedroom ( both our parents live OOT), one is just an empty room that we throw stuff in... and the one with no heat is set up as a library- bookshevles, nice laminate wood floor, and eventually a nice comfy couch will go in there.
our office is actually in the old kitchen ( our kitchen was added on about 20 years ago). we took all the old kitchen cabinets down and put a nice desk and stoage cabinet in there.

Technically 4 but the 4th is very small so it our office/laundry room. The other downstairs bedroom is DH's "man room" aka our den. Upstairs are two huge bedroom, ours and the "I don't know what to do with it, throw it upstairs" room. Hopefully one day will be a nursery. If not then an exercise/reading room.

At this point the last one is just a secondary guest room, but we just moved here so I haven't really figured out what to really do with it.

this is a great post for us....i'm trying to figure out what to do with our 4 bedrooms. just wondering if we should combine the office & gym or guestroom and gym!

4. the one downstairs is used as a gym. upstairs, we have our master bedroom, we have one set up as a guest bedroom, and we are turning the last into a computer room. i have taken over the closets in the guest bedroom and computer room as well
