How many did you need?

I'm pregnant with twins (same gender) and a little overwhelmed with all the stuff! I'm curious:

* What did you need two of. I assume high chairs and car seats, but I'm talking about seats and bouncers, play mats, rockers, jumpers, etc.

* How much did you need of the miscellany (i.e. bottles, wash cloths, swaddle blankets, sheets and mattress covers, bibs, binkies, onesies, etc.)?

* If there's something that I didn't list and you're like OMG don't forget you need _______ from a BTDT twin-mom, please share. I'm like a babe in the woods here Chat Icon

How many did you need?

My twins aren't here yet but based on the recommendations everyone here I am registered for and then will purchase what I don't get:
2 car seats and convertible car seats
1 stroller
2 extra bases
2 bouncers
2 swings
My reasoning is if I use it for both maybe I can nap! Hahaha
2 different exercausers so they can rotate and they covert- a 3 in 1 set up
1 activity mat
Bottles I was told not to buy too many until you know if they like them. So I am planning to breastfeed so I researched bottles and picked the natural Avent. I plan to leave some unopened early on just in case we need to return. I figured 12 bottles per day per baby
Bibs I registered for 2 10 packs- we shall see what I get
Onesies I registered for basic white ones. Everyone buys clothes- I'm sure I'll have enough as long as I can clothe them
I'm good
Crib sheets-8
Mattress cover- 1 each I got water proof mattress
I registered for the halo sleep sack instead of swaddle me based on everyone's recommendation here
Recieving blanket- 1 5 pack I registered since people always give blankets but I plan on buying more
I registered for 5 packs of 5 burp clothes
For the changing covers I registered for 6. I have 3 floors so we have a spare changing table in the bathroom off our living room since that's my lower level and we hang out there mostly I'm not dragging 2 babies upstairs

I didn't get a double breastfeeding pillow- just 2 Boppy pillows
Additional items I've been told to do without is bedding. I left it on my registry- I like it and I'll have to see if someone buys it.
For a monitor I have a double video monitor on there only with the way the bedroom is configured, if I mounted one and had it rotate I still wouldn't have a good view of the second crib.
I registered for the twin pack and play- it has 2 bassinets- we plan to have them sleep in their crib from day 1- but if they do need to sleep in our room- they will go in here because I don't have a big enough bedroom to drag a crib in there. I didn't register for a specific rocker because, while most people use the rock and play for sleep- they are not good from a PT standpoint and it's harder to transition to the crib from what I've been told
Also not on your list- lots of bath towels

Congrats on the twins! Definitely overwhelming! Not sure when you are due but if it's after me- I'll let you know if anything is needed or not needed based on what I have! Hahaha

Re: How many did you need?

Twin z pillow!!! I didn't register for it but someone got it for me and OMG it was a HUGE life saver when alone with my infant twins.

We had two rock and plays, one swing, one jumperoo, two sit me up seats, two summer infant activity seats, one pack and play...the twin one with two bassinets on top. Summer infant pop up play yard came in handy when they started crawling. It allowed me to keep them contained and safe if I needed to run to the bathroom or do dishes.

We got two strollers. One double snap and go which was a huge life saver when my twins were still in infant car seats, and then we got the Joovy x2 side by side stroller also. Once we no long needed the snap and go, we got the city select double stroller which is tandem and easier to take places like supermarkets and malls.
Skip hop double duo diaper bag was the best fir the first year!
The first few months we had about 12 bottles in the rotation...then we cut is down to 6 when feedings were spaced out more.

How many did you need?

8 swaddle blankets
Lots of burp cloths (I used cloth diapers for this)
2 boppys
2 bouncers/seats
I would recommend 2 bassinets (I used the double pnp but I hated it)
2 infant car seats, 4 bases (I chose the lightest with the highest rating)
I loved the Joovy Roo
I'd recommend the City Select
I had 14 bottles and scaled down to 8 when they were older
6 hooded towels
I used a regular-sized diaper bag and always packed light, however I loved the skip hop duo double for the beach or for a full day out/holiday away from home for the day, etc.
2 swings
1 jumparoo, 1 excersaucer
1 large activity mat
1 pack n play
My girls slept together in the crib until one rolled over, then I separated them.

I will post more as I think of more Chat Icon
