How many embies to transfer?
I start stims Tuesday and have to turn in my ivf paperwork then too. As it stands right now, DH and I have decided to go for a 5dt of one blast with the option of a lab override on day 3 if the embies are not doing well and then transfer 2 in a 3dt. I want to max my chances with this ivf cycle but am also afraid of a twin pg. I was on bedrest for basically my last trimester with DD and she was still 6 weeks early. I really want to go full term. So, should I stick with our plan or just go straight out for a 3dt of 2 embies. I would like to have some to freeze, just in case or hopefully for #3. Thanks!
ETA I know this is all assuming that I have enough embies to do any of this but since I have to turn the paperwork in Tues I need to finalize my decision

they are giving the option of a 3 or 5 dt?
At all the clinics I've been to, the lab decides....

At all the clinics I've been to, the lab decides....
Well, on the paperwork, dh and I have to sign and select which dt we want and how many embies. I assume the lab will override no matter what, if need be.

Hmmm....we were told to sign the 3d2embie transfer section but to leave the first section open for a possible override to a 5 day as it's really up to the embryologists...did your nurse take you through it?

No, no one went over it with us. We have spoken to Dr. K about preferring a 5 day but.. I guess we will see on Tues. As Lisa said, at the end of the day I am sure the lab will make the call.

I had no choice in whether we did 3d or 5d transfer. It was left up to the lab based on how the embryos were doing. We already knew though how many were going back if it was a 3d or 5d transfer based on conversations we previously had with the RE

My DH and I struggled with this. At first he wanted to do only 1 embie but in the end left it up to me. I chose 2. My clinic prefers to do 5 dt but my embies needed to be transferred at day 3 and they did well. The same thing happened to my friend who has 2 yyr old twins now
