How many hours a day..
How many hours of the day would you say your child is in the swing/bouncy? I feel bad that Megan is in there a lot. I try to take her out and hold her or dance with her..play with her but I have to get things done and I cant if shes always in my arms. She likes the bouncy and swing but I feel bad that shes in there too long sometimes. She is 4 months old.

Re: How many hours a day..
well I moved him around a lot or he's attacked by these 2 big toddlers
dont worry about how much time, you have excellent mommy instincts and know when she needs you. Im sure the TLC you do give her is good and plenty, and it's GREAT and you'll be so thankful that she's content and ok with entertaining herself and not being on mommys hip all day long.
keep up the great work

Re: How many hours a day..
ZERO! This kid is going to have the roundest head ever. He hates everything except for being held and being aired out on my couch. He won't even go in his stroller...walks consist of me carrying him through the streets.

Re: How many hours a day..
We put him in his bouncy mostly at dinner time when we eat. He'll sit there for just about when we are done eating.

Re: How many hours a day..
I hold Hannah more than I should I"m sure, but I'm trying to get better at putting her in the swing or bouncy more often. She needs to learn to be on her own a little. She's sleeping in the swing right now
I'd say she's in her bouncy on the table for 3 meals and a shower (at least!) and the swing maybe an hour (if she lasts that long)

Re: How many hours a day..
Maybe put her in something else to switch it up a bit? Exersaucer, pack n play, play mat, etc?

Re: How many hours a day..
She goes on the playmat every day for about 40 minutes. We play on the bed every day, I try to read to her. My mom usually comes over at night and she plays with her the entire time she is here. I just dont hold her all day because I wonder how I would get anything done..but then I wonder if I am holding her enough?
I am waiting to put her in the exersaucer for another month at least..same with the highchair..her isnt stabile enough and the ped doesnt think it should be started so young.

Re: How many hours a day..
It sounds like what you are doing is fine! I know James doesn't like when I hold him TOO much, he likes to play. If it's not broke, don't fix it, she sounds like she's doing really well!

Re: How many hours a day..
for me, maybe 1/2 hr. a day tops can I put Nikolas down, or sit him in ANYTHING..
but I think its great that your DD likes the swing and bouncy and is content to sit or play by herself.. I think that makes her a very well adjusted, well rounded baby and its great that she is so independent!! Its wonderful to hold them but even better when the can be content by themselves too.. Gosh I how WISH I had things that I could put Nikolas in for more than 10 mins before he flipped out on me
Sounds like you are doing a great job !

Re: How many hours a day..
When she was younger, Ellie took all her naps in her swing and then she would also spend time in her bouncy seat and on the playmat and then the playpen too. I tried to change it up.

Re: How many hours a day..
for the first 3 months Parker was in the swing a lot. She basically took all her naps in it. Now the swing is a big no for her and I'm lucky if I get a 1/2 in the exasaucer. In the morning she goes in the bouncy seat for about 20 mins while she watches Play with me Sesame. Other than that we play on the floor or I'm carring her around. I just started using the bjorn and it works great! I can get stuff done and she is some what happy! I'm dying for other ideas! It's hard to entertain her all day.
