We are house hunting and don't want a pool but I keep finding so many houses have pools. Does it make you nerveous with your DC's? It is a lot of maintenance and expense?

We do. We have an above ground. We're not nervous at all with DS b/c we have a safety ladder so when we don't use it, we push it up and he can't reach it to pull it down and climb on it.
We never had a pool before and it's really easy to maintain and it didn't cost very much either (once we figured out what we were doing!)

inground here - doesn't make me nervous at all since it has a sturdy chainlink fence completely around it

We don't but I grew up with a huge inground unfenced pool.
Makes me nervous to think what my parents went through when we were little....
But I did learn how to swim VERY young, got thrown in and learned very quickly!
