How many of you ladies played "dress-up" when you were a little girl, and
what did you pretend you were?
A neighbor's Daughter, gave me all these beautiful old prom gowns to play with; One was a gorgeous full, light baby blue with sparkles!!! I've never forgotten it!!! I use to pretend I was a ballet dancer; Funny, since I have two left feet, but, I was really angry, at my Mom, when we went to see my Cousin's new baby, and there was my beautiful blue gown, on that baby bassinet, being used as a ruffle!!!!!!! My Mom had some "splainen" to do, quote Ricky Ricardo!!!! Mary

We used to have a "dress-up box" with my a bunch of my grandma's old dresses. My sister was more into it than I was. Anytime a boy came over, she would insist on marrying him because there was a long white gown in there.

Re: How many of you ladies played "dress-up" when you were a little girl, and
we had my late grandmother's wedding dress to play in... she was tiny AND it wasn't a floor length gown, so it was perfect!

Re: How many of you ladies played "dress-up" when you were a little girl, and
I was such a tomboy, so never. I did however dress my little brother up in my cousins hand me down dresses and put sponge rollers in his hair. Bwaaaahhh. I do have at least one picture to show his wife.

I think we just pretended to be grown up ladies going out for a "fancy night". My Mom would let us use her "real high heels" too!! Very chic!

I frequently played 'wedding' ... my BFF and I would take turns being the dad to walk the other one down the aisle and the groom to kiss their 'awfully wedded wife.'

Re: How many of you ladies played "dress-up" when you were a little girl, and
My mom had a cedar closet in the basement that had some bridesmaid dresses and other dresses from various events....we used to go down and try them on and pretend we were queen/princesses...I think there was even an joker (like court jester) costume from a halloween....

Re: How many of you ladies played "dress-up" when you were a little girl, and
I used to dress up in my mother's old clothes from the late 60's/early 70's. On her they were rather revealing. I distinctly remember this skirt made out of men's ties. I used put it on with my mother's old Candi's; dress the cat in some old baby clothes and then stick him in a very large, old pram and then parade up and down the street with my "baby."
