How many ounces...

I know there are a lot of moms out there with babies who are right around the 3 month mark right now...

So I'm wondering how many ounces your babies are eating a day.

I'm a nut and write down every single ounce. If it's a 7 oz bottle and she only finishes 5.5 ounces, that's what I count it as. I should probably throw away my records so that I can get rid of clutter, but I have every bottle written down since we took her home from the hospital.

She eats about 28-32 ounces a day.

But I really think she needs to start on cereal because her 7 oz bottles are not seeming to satisfy her, but only certain bottles, sometimes she doesn't even finish them. By the time I mix up more to give her a few ounces she's all peeved and doesn't always take it, so I think having the cereal ready and giving her a few spoonfuls will help to satisfy her. Plus she's already 14 lbs and will be 3 months on Jan 6th.

I'm just wondering if I'm not feeding her enough and that's why she is still hungry after feeding. My co-worker's son was born 1 day before Emily and she claimed today that he eats around 52 oz. a day and that he still eats 8 times a day (Emily is down to 5-6 feedings each day) and I just find that hard to believe.

If she's not finishing her bottles or even taking more formula, she's probably satisfied and maybe something else is going on?

I'm not sure if you are BF or FFing, but there is a difference, typically, in how much each will drink since BM is easily digested (doesn't keep a baby full as long.) Anything is possible when it comes to how much another child will eat, but that doesn't mean another will. I wouldn't even use that other child as a worry that she's not getting enough. If she's gaining, she's getting enough.

I've always warmed up what I knew my kids would eat and then if they were still hungry I would only heat up ounce by ounce. They usually never eat exactly the same every single meal.

That being said, if I had to venture a guess, Gianni's drinking (BM) about at least 36 oz and probably up to 48 oz?? It's so hard to tell and I don't really think about it. He'll be 8 weeks on Thursday.

Hayley was just 3 months the other day. She eats about 25-30 oz a day. She goes for her well baby visit today so we will see what the Dr says about cereal.

Alex is just over 3 months today and I'd venture to say that she's eating about 35-40 ounces... I can track what she eats during the day while she's in daycare because she's eating from the bottle, and that's usually no more than about 12-15 ounces... then I feed her two more times before bed, and two more times before daycare. She seems to be growing just fine (probably over 15lbs at this point). I think we'll start talking cereal with the pediatrician at our next baby visit in January

Jacobs eats 4 times a day and I make him an 8 oz. bottle. SOmetimes he finishes it and sometimes he will leave an ounce... so I would say the most he eats is 32 oz a day. He was 13 12 at his 3 month appointment.

I think at his four month we will be talking about cereal...

Katherine eats between 24-30 oz/day. Usually it's on the lower end of that. She's down to 4-5 feedings a day now and has been completely satisfied with 6 oz. bottles for several weeks now. She's 15 lbs. and 3 1/2 mos.

Ryan will be 3 months on the 30th..

He eats 4-5 oz, every 3 hrs...
So thats about 28-32oz...
