How many ounces was your baby taking at 5 weeks old?
My DD has been taking 4 ounces each feeding but sometimes I feel like she wants more.
Other times though, she doesn't finish the bottle or cluster feeds- an ounce here, falls asleep for a bit, takes another few ounces etc.
She's very inconsistant.
I was just curious what others took at around 5-6 weeks old...

Around then he started to take 5oz. per bottle from 4oz. At 9 weeks, he still only takes 5oz. per bottle or else he spits it all up.

see my past post
2-2.5 ounces for every pound of body weight per day, is the average up until 3m I think.
I always offer an ounce more than DS usually takes. You cannot overfeed them that early. Give them what they want.

Hi Nell...
I haven't been on LIF much since I had DD (I was  ...loving my little girl). When was your DD born? Mine was just 5 weeks on Thursday. I was almost a week late!
Anyway, my DD is a piggy  ...she is random - takes 5 oz at one feeding and 6 at others. She usually takes the full 6 oz...there have been a few times just this past week though where she was still starving after the 6 oz (eating her hands, crying - just obviously wanting more)...so we made 2 more oz. She took two 8 oz bottles in one day this week...I was wondering if it was a growth spurt or what but she took it and no more spit up than usual. So she is really all over the map.
We feed her every 4 hours. She gives us nice long stretches at night which I love.
I should mention there are also times she only takes 4 - 4.5 oz...like she will fall asleep on the bottle after only 4 oz. My ped says give her what she will take at this point...if she seems she wants more to give it to her.

DS just went up to 5oz. a few days ago. He's exactly 5 weeks.
But he's the same as your LO...sometimes he sucks down all 5, sometime he'll only take 1 1/2. He's not consistent at all.
