How many pre-planning days do you have?
We have to be a week before the kiddo's come... and in my old school it was a week and a half (though the first 2 were 'flex' days - there were something like 5 flex days during the year, and you had to work 3/5 of them).
It seems as though LI and NY have far fewer pre-planning days than we do, and I was just curious!

same here!! I pretty much expect to stay pretty late on Tuesday (and probably Wednesday) to get everything organized.

We have professional development on Tues/Wed and then kids come in on Thursday.

Wow! I didn't realize how late teachers went back on LI! I started last Monday, and the kids come Tuesday.

We start Tues., kids come Wed., but I'm a speech pathologist and we don't start therapy until 9/17.
