I was a flower girl in 1980.
I was a matron of honor for my BF from high school in 2006.
I was supposed to be a BM in May 2007 but the wedding was called off.

I named my 80s bridesmaid dresses B&W Chiquita Banana & Tinkerbell.
What were yours?
The first time, I was 16 - 1986. The color was a bright purple, tea length satin strapless number with a long sleeved lace overlay. It had a satin bow on the side with a rhinestone clip. Oh but it gets better. We had matching cap-like hats with tulle poufs sticking out of the top adorned with pearl beads - yes, the bride mixed rhinestones with pearl beads.
I called that one: VIOLET BEAUREGARD!
The next one (1987) was a lovely baby pink taffeta extravaganza complete with big poufy shoulders, a "vee" in the front to accentuate my (at the time) size 16 belly and a wonderful bow on the butt. Did I mention the crinoline that was underneath? I stepped on it numerous times while walking down the aisle.
I called that one: COTTON CANDY HAPPINESS.
The last and final one (1990) was a strapless black cocktail dress with a shirred top and a ruffled bottom that stopped at the knee. It had been during my college years and I was able to wear it twice more for sorority and fraternity formals. It was VERY tolerable and fashionable at the time.
I called that one THANK G-D MY SISTER HAD MERCY ON US!!!
I am sorry but words alone cannot create a mental pic for me....ya got pictures of these lovely creations??

I did it once, and it was one time too many for me. I didn't enjoy it and it was for that reason I didn't have a bridal party at my wedding. Too traditional, and too much pressure for me.
Before my best friend here got engaged I told her that if she ever was going to get married that she SHOULDN'T ask me to be a bridesmaid/MOH anything like that. I didn't want to do it. Instead I did a reading in the church and I found that a much more enjoyable and much more involved part of her special day.

schlepper of gifts at bridal shower = too many to count
My best accomplishment as a BM was being able to wear one pair of dyed forest green pumps to two weddings, two years apart!

Once for my friend in Israel- I got to wear my own dress in 2005.
Once for a friend in California- dress was from J.Crew 2006.
