How much alcohol would you buy?

We will have ca. 50 adults for DS's baptism. I want to stick with just beer and wine.

I was thinking of getting b/t 300-350 beers and 6 large bottles of wine (Yellowtail) - Chardonnay and Merlot.
Do you think that's sufficient?

Re: How much alcohol would you buy?

i think it really depends on how many wine drinkers you have, is it an all day drink-fest, and how heavy of drinkers are they?

I would probably pick up a few extra bottles but thats just bc my friends and family are winos Chat Icon

I think that's way too much beer.

300 would be 6 beers per person. Are your guests all heavy beer drinkers? My guess is that few of the adults actually will consume 6 or more beers apeice. I also assume some of these people will be driving and not drinking much at all.

I did calculate 6 beers per drinking adult (even though I know some don't drink at all). I calculated this many b/c it starts at 4PM and could go into the night . Unfortunately, there are quite a few beer guzzlers coming (although I hope they aren't getting wasted at my son's baptism!)

How many beers in a case? 24? I would get 10 cases of beer and 8-10 big bottles of wine - I would include a pinot grigio with the merlot & chardonnay.
