How much do you chip in for your boss for christmas?
I have 2 bosses and was just told by one of the girls that everyone usually chips in $50 each for a gift for them. I think thats crazy and so do some of the other girls..Most of us just started this year and dont know what kind of bonus or anything that we get.. Not to be cheap, but i just bought a house and have many more bills than i used to.
I'm not even spending that much on family!!!

$0.00 I only get my secretary something. I was always under the impression that you aren't really supposed to get your superiors anything, just those who work under you.

I think $50 each is WAY too much for your BOSS
We dont do chipping in stuff, I only work for my people. And I dont even bother with ALL my bosses .. i have 4 of them! But my main guy (who is good to me), well even him I usually do not spend anymore than $25-30 on

This year, I'm not getting them anything! They get nothing for us regardless of the time of the year. Plus, if I go pick up something for lunch and one of them wants something ....I always end up paying for THEIR lunch!
I think $50.00 is a lot unless you are getting one heck of a holiday bonus...then I would s@ck it up.

I spend $50 on each of my bosses; $25 on my co-worker and $25 on my co-worker's boss.
Yes, we're givers in these parts - just full of the holiday season ~~~~

Yes, that is the true. You aren't obligated to buy anything for your superiors, but you should for your subordiantes.
WHen I started, the otehr entry level person was buyign something for our boss, so I did too & now I have kept up that tradition. There are just 3 of us in the dept., so we all buy for each other. I spend about $25-$25 on them.
ETA-- I don't give the head of the company (my boss's boss) , anything. We used to get so- so bonuses, but that stopped & it's not like he spends his own money on us.

well we do secret santa and exchange gifts. We do $30 limit. Her B-day is in Dec also & we all chip in $20

$50 is definitely way too much on your boss. Luckily I just got transferred to a new one about 2 weeks ago and its only temporary, so they'll be no boss gift-giving for me!

We have 2 head bosses. Everyone has chipped in $8 person (for both-not each). We are taking my boss out for dinner.
