How much do you feed your cat?

I don't usually post on here (I'm usually hanging out on the Parenting board), so I'll introduce myself first! I have 2 dogs, both rescues, both mutts, about 70lbs. each- Maggie and Chloe. I also have a cat named Oreo, you guessed it- black and white. My question is about Oreo. She's about 7 and a half years old, and on the smaller side. She weighs about 9 lbs. She used to be somewhat overweight- around 11-12 lbs. Back then, we would put out dry food for her in the AM, filling her bowl about half way, and leave it out all day. Then we'd give her a can of Fancy Feast for dinner. Once we decided to do something about her weight- maybe a year and a half ago, we cut out the dry food, and we were giving her a full can of FF in the AM and half a can for dinner. She lost the weight pretty easily after that. So now, we give her a full can at each meal. We try to feed her at 7AM and 7PM. She is in my bed almost every morning, from 6:00 on (sometimes earlier!), meowing, pawing at everything, trying to get me to feed her! At night, she starts around 5:00, following us around everywhere, meowing, the whole bit. Are we not feeding her enough?? Or is she just being a cat and she'd do this no matter how much she eats? What do you think?

my cat is big, large breed i guess.. and i'm careful with his food.. i give him 1/2 a cup, and split it in the morning and at night..

if he runs out of food, he meaows until i wake up, and i try not to feed him at odd hours.. its hard, but i can't just food in his bowl.. he's got to control it a bit

we have small bowls that are prob 8 oz or so for both of our cats and we fill them with food in the morning and don't refill it until the next morning (or if it's empty at night, we'll put a little in there to get them through the night). usually it's about halfway empty around dinner time and by the morning it's completely empty.

when they were kittens we would mix half a bowl of dry and half a can of wet, but now that they're 10 and 12 pounds we just do the dry food.

we put one spoon of wet and a handful of dry twice a day (the handful is about 1/3 of a cup) if we put less they need more snacks if we put more there is left over.

I have 2 cats. Both female.

we keep dry food out all day long. and they split a small can of wet food in the morning and once in a while they split a second small can of wet food in the evening.

They don't overeat and stop when they are full.

They aren't overweight either. My one cat developed a little pudge on her stomach only, after she was fixed... but she's not overweight and it's literally right where the stiches were.

I always heard dry food is better for them and that canned isnt even needed.

Duke is about 15lbs but not over weight. He gets all the dry food he wants (we keep it filled) and half a can of scuence diet morning and night (so 1 can a day).

My two cats Tom & Jerry split a can of Fancy Feast in the morning and split another can at dinner time. I also leave a bowl of dry food out all the time.

Both cats are not overweight.

our female cat has dry food out all the time, and gets 1 can of fancy feast in the morning.

our male cat has dry food out all the time, he gets fancy feast when he's in the mood for it (you'll know).

the she-devil beast has dry food out all day, and has probably 3 cans of wet food per day. she's hyperthyroid, and is crazy tiny. but she'll scratch your eyes out if you don't feed her when she wants it!
