I am in the same boat. I may go Monday after work and throw some applications in.
With holidays coming and vacation coming, I would love to just have extra $$
I work now till 3
DH doesnt get home till 7.
I would work 4-7 or something like that.

Well guys I don't know where you live but the Simon malls like RF & Smith Heaven hire pople to sell gift cards. I did it last year as a P/T and I made some prettygood money. They started me at almost 9 an hr. whauch wasn't bad and I didn't have to worry about cleaning up the store.

i kno that ann taylor loft clothing stores r hiring part time.. i think it would be nice to work in a store like that pt cause u can get discounts on work clothes--its a smaller store rather then a huge department, and ur dealing with adult woman rather then screaming children or annoying teens Chat Icon just my opinion.. for a pt job int he winter i used to work coat check, the easiest money i ever made Chat Icon

just think about what the hours and the location is.

Stores in the mall are subject to mall hours and you may find yourself having to work very late on weeknights or weekends.

Whereas a stand alone store (like Ann Taylor on 6th Avenue or a Gap on Crossbay Blvd) might have different hours (7 p.m. or 9 p.m.) since they do not have to adhere to mall rules.

I'm making $14.24 an hour working for an employment research firm. Not too bad considering I don't really kill myself.

what is an employment research firm? AND are they hiring P/T? LOL

I know I was looking into working at Head Start P/T ...Get this....$7 an hour? Thats a little low for me.

I know Kohls used to pay over $8 an hour like 5 years ago so it must be around $9 now, which is good for P/T work IMO.

Re: how much do you think a part time job would pay?

If you are a teacher, I say tutor! Do one on one SAT tutoring if you can handle it. I teach private flute lessons and get 25 for a half hour and 50 for an hour. And I also tutor, that I make 40 an hour for. So for what I would work five hours in a store for, I make in an hour tutoring. I guess this would only work if you are a teacher, but you could easily tutor elementary school students, too, even if you aren't a teacher.

They actually might be...they're beefing up their evening staff, so if anyone is interested, please f/m me and I'll inquire.

We do employment screening for clients (credit, criminal, DMV records, etc.)
