How much Fat should an 11 month old have in their diet?

I am starting to give DD whole milk which is 8 grams of fat for 8 ounces. Right now I am only giving her 1 bottle per day of whole milk to get her use to it , but once I move up to 3 that plus yogurt and all the other "grown up" food she eats it seems like a lot of fat. I know they need the fat of the whole milk, but it there a set amount of calories and fat she should be consuming?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the fat content at this age.. Unless your child is obese, which I am sure they are not let them eat what they want to.. They are still growing and need as much nutrients as they can..

I would ask your doctor if you are that concerned but I am sure they will tell you something on the same lines...

I have asked my brother this and this is whathe tells me all the time..He laughs when I don't allow JAcob to eat certain foods.

fat is needed to insulate the brain cells and the brain is not fully developed until 2 years...so do not cut back on any fat.

I agree with the PP, don't worry about the fat. They need lots of fat in their diets at this age to keep growing!
