Re: How much food for BBQ?

I always over make but I would have 1 hot dog, 1 hamburger and 1 pc chicken for everyone.
Is the steak sliced steak or whole steaks? If it is flank steak (or something along those lines), I would make 2 of them.

Re: How much food for BBQ?

I ALWAYS budget too much food.. because I never want to be in the position of telling someone I don't have enough for them!

I'd probably budget 2 each of the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken for the adults, 1 each of the hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids and 1/2 chicken for each kid. I'd probably buy 4 london broils since they are inexpensive - and have them on standby to cook - but actually only cook 2 unless there was more demand!

For the alcohol - I am funny and don't like a lot of booze in my house. I don't want anyone getting wasted. I'd probably have enough for each adult to have 2 beers/Mikes.. and I'd make a light Sangria so that every adult can have one of those if they choose.

I agree with this.

I would also forgo the Mike's drinks entirely and make an electric lemonade and/or sangria. it's far cheaper than buying cases of coolers.

actually, I would definitely make lemoneade spiked with Southern Comfort.
