I was doing well until my trip to Lakeshore the other day. Probably over $200 and then I bought some books on Amazon

It will get better- every year I have to spend a bit less. It's still way too much, but really that's mostly by choice at this point. I have everything I need at this point, but there is always a new book or something that I have to have... My first few years were ridiculous, though!

My 1st year teaching I spent about $1500 of my own money but my school gave us nothing! I was teaching in NC and I was given $250 for supplies and with that I had to buy my students thhir school supplies!! It does get less and less with every school year!

So far this year I have spent $200+. I just switched from elementary to hs, so I had to buy new books/prof resources. It's scary how quickly I can spend money in a teacher's store!

about $350- between teaching store, Staples and Amazon for some new books. I also bought a new rug this year for my library and cubbies for them to store their supplies- 99 cents at Target but it adds up. It adds up very quickly. :(

~$50 - I got a lot of stuff at staples when it was on sale/free and as a hs teacher I only have one bulletin board.

Probably about $30 so far.
And now that Teachers Choice $ is being lowered, I won't be spending as much as usual.

I get all of my supplies and I usually just get new pillows each year.

i haven't spent anything. my district gives me $200.00 for supplies and $250.00 for textbooks/manipulatives, etc. so i am very thankful for that.

We have to order from district approved companies and we did it online where they have a bids with different companies where we get everything much cheaper. anything else i want the kids to have, it's on their supply list.

i also find that i re-use most of what I bought my first year or two. i also find that i don't do the "cutesy" stuff anymore. i put up a nice bulletin board and that's it. the cute-sy prizes, bulletin boards, etc. are just not necessary and just become a distraction, IMO. (I teach 5th grade special ed. )

i find that i spend money during the year for some things like class parties and things like that, but that's it.

maybe $100 - if that. It usually gets a little less expensive as you teach longer. I buy TONS of stuff at the dollar store.

About $100 so far but I have more to get...last year was my first year and I spent well over $1000
