How much more hectic is it to have 3 children vs 2?
2 kids are so much work but at least the ratio is 1:1 kid to adult. I cannot imagine how much more difficult it would be to have 3.
If you have 3 kids, what are the age differences?
I thought I was totally done but now I'm not so sure. I gave away my maternity clothes and it made me sad. I would not mind a third child but I have such MISERABLE pregnancies. DH said he cannot survive another one of my pregnancies.

I actually think it was easier going from 2-3 than 1-2. And now that i have 3 it's like ahh...what's one more.
The thing is with 3 and them getting older is all of the activities and who takes who where. We have to schedule activities around each other and it's doable, just required being organized and everything in my appt book.
ETA: the age difference is 8 years between DD#1 and DD#2 and 13 months between DD#2 and DD#3.
I understand your 2 under 2 posts and can tell you that there is a turning point where it all gets better

My sister has 3. She said the initial transition from 2-3 was easier than 1-2.
I went straight from 1-3 so I have no idea.

Re: How much more hectic is it to have 3 children vs 2?
It was actually VERY easy for me. The baby is the easy part of my daily routine! It's the boys that I'm having a hard time with. They have been in a mood lately. Besides their attitudes, the hardest thing is running around like a mad woman to activities and the store. And I don't sign them up for a bunch of stuff either. It's probably harder for me since I work FT and at least 30 min. away. If I was a SAHM, I don't see it being that much of a pain as it is now.

Re: How much more hectic is it to have 3 children vs 2?
I think a big part that makes a difference is the age difference between everyone. My kids are 5 and 4(in July) and I have a 3 week old. It really isnt bad. I keep waiting for it to get hairy. 1-2 was more difficult for me because they were 15 months apart. So essentially I had 2 babies. The kids help me with things now. My SIL has 3 and her kids are 28 months apart each and she told me it was eaiser from 1-2 than 2-3.

Re: How much more hectic is it to have 3 children vs 2?
I think it all depends on age differences and how much help you have. My kids were all born within a 3 year span. My oldest had just turned 3 when my youngest was born.
We live OOS so while family was able to come visit, we were largely on our own. Thank heavens my husband is an incredibly involved father, so I had tons of help while he was home.
I remember thinking in the very beginning that going from 2-3 was the hardest. Taking care of 2 toddlers while trying to feed a very fussy newborn really sapped me. That said, I reminded myself daily that it was SUCH a brief period in our lives and that we'd eventually be through it.
Now, DS is 9 months old and we have a nice routine. I work FT, so that has it's own stressors, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love having my 3.
