How much pizza?

We are having my DS' 5th birthday party this weekend. I am ordering the pizza, but I am unsure how much I should get.

There are 16 kids coming and I would guess 32 adults (I do not think everyone is bringing 2 parents although I know some in his class do).

Is 10 pies sufficient? Or should I get 11-12?

So if you figure 1 slice per kid and 2 slices per adult
that is 80 slices.
A kid might eat more than one slice of course, but I doubt all adults will eat 2 slices. Some will eat none, some will eat one.
So 80 slices would be more than enough IMO.
So that's 10 pies.
You should be ok
Especially if they cut the kids slices in half- because at 5 a lot of the kids will be fine with that half slice. You will have more than enough

I think if you get 10 pies you will probably be taking home 4 pizzas!

6 should be more than enough. 8 if you want to be totally safe.

Okay, so maybe I will be 8-9 pies.

There will be a minimum of 24 adults since some family members with no kids are coming.

I was planning on doing the half slices for the kids. I know my kid will eat an entire real slice, but I think most kids might not have that big of an appetite.

I think you will be OK with 6 pies. A lot of parents do not eat at parties.

I doubt each kid will bring 2 parents.

Here's my calculator, lol.

16 kids x 1.5 slices = 24 slices

plus 16 adults x 1 slice (in my experience, a lot of parents need their arms twisted to eat) = 16 slices

24 + 16 -= 40 slices which is 5 pies.

I'd order 7 pies, either 6 whole and 1 cut into half slices or 5 whole/2 half slices.

*Maybe* order 1 extra pie. You could always freeze it! But anything more than 8 is overkill from my experience.

Is the party at a place or your house.
If at a party place most parents will not eat so 6 pies should be good.
If at your house I would go with 7 or 8

not really sure how many pies you should get but I will make the suggestion of having the pies cut into 16 instead of 8. You will need a lot less pizza because kids and adults tend to want 1- 1 1/2 slices but if the pizza is cut into 8 - they take a second but really don't finish it.

It is at the YMCA. I have been to parties with these parents many times before and know that they always take one slice of pizza when offered. I'll get at least two pies cut in 16 slices.

I always over order because the first ever child's birthday party I went to, they ran out of pizza. Kids were asking for more and some parents were eating but there wasn't enough pizza for every adult, and kids went home hungry....

Soooo, I'd figure 8 pies is enough, but I'd probably do 9.
