How Much Sleep for Young Infants?

I just started back to work this week Chat Icon and it has really affected DD's night time sleep amounts. She was getting like 10 or so hours of sleep per night, but now she's waking up when I get up at 5am and not falling asleep again until DH has her in the car at 7am...so she's getting maybe 8 hours at night (with one or two feedings in there).

She used to be queen of the 30-45 minute naps 2-3 times a day, but I guess now at MIL's she'll nap for an hour or so each time, with 1 more nap than normal.

I just worry she doesn't get enough sleep overnight. But I guess if she wasn't, she'd be cranky, right? And she gets to sleep during the day as much as she wants. So, my question is, how much sleep does your little one get overnight, and do you think my DD is getting enough? She's 12 weeks, BTW. I mean, babies will get as much sleep as they need, regardless, right?

THANKS Chat Icon
