How much to disable a car alarm?
We inherited FIL's car once he passed away. The car alarm drives me INSANE!!!!! It turns itself on about 10 seconds after opening a car door. I will be getting DS out of the car and it will go off. Sometimes it 'beeps' a warning that it will go off, but I forget while taking a sleeping DS out of the car. I go to shut the car door and the alarm goes off, resulting in waking DS up and all of my neighbors.
I can't take it anymore!!!!! How much does it cost to disable the alarm? I don't want it fixed. i just want it OFF!

A couple yrs ago I had the same issue, with the toyota I had before. A mechanic told me it was a factory installed alarm and only toyota could disable it. It ended up costing me 300. So I guess it would depend on if it's after market or factory installed. Factory installed might be alot more expensive.

DH does it all the time. There are simply wires to cut or disconnect. I don't think you have to pay someone to do it, just have someone look under the hood to locate the wires and snip them!

This sounds like a better option. I can't afford $300 for a snip. Now I must find someone who knows cars.

One of my old cars had a button hidden under the dash on the drivers side that allowed me to disable the alarm. Check under there to see if you also have a button.

my car had the same problem. I took it to a Honda dealer and one of the mechanics did it for like $30 cash or something around there

You just need to find the alarm control box and cut the power, or find the alarm horn and snip that wire.
Do you have a key fob? Is there a brand name/model on it? Is there a window sticker? Knowing the brand would help in how it's wired.
