how much to feed dog

Maggie is almost 7 months and is 50 lbs... I've been following the eating guidelines that are on the back of the IAMs bag but I feel like it's not enough... each month she's eating less and less. I thought when they were bigger they'd eat more?? any ideas?

i never followed the guidelines... i have two big dogs, both weigh within 2 lbs of each other and ranger eats 4 cups of food a day, jd eats 2 cups a day.... when jd ate more he was overweight by 25 lbs..... we started out with ranger trying to determine how much to feed him by looking for signs that he was satisfied... meaning was he scavanging throughout the day?? i know when the weather changes i have to up how much they both get for a week because they will start eating anything and everything....

my dog wasn't eating his entire bowl either. then i put him on a diet and realized that he just wasn't hungry. i had been feeding him table scraps and treats pretty much all day long. once i cut that out he would snarf down his food. i follow the guidelines and feed him just below the guideline of dry food and add 3 tsp of wet (1 in am, 2 in pm). also i don't free-feed. i pick the bowl up after an hour if he hasn't eaten (although some people only give their dogs 15 minutes to eat)
