How often do you read to your little ones ????Do you have a set time of day to do it ?

i feel badly that i dont do it enough .. but with the chaos of everyday things i feel maybe it gets pushed aside !

We read every night before bedtime, about 5 books...it's DH's job

And we do pick up a book or two throughout the day and read it, but bedtime is definitely the designated "book time".

between 1-4 times a day. We read everynight about 3 books ( sometimes more then once) and usually at least once a day we read baout 5 books.

We are reading a LOT lately to help with Noahs speech , but he has always been big on books and would randomly during the day bring us books to read to him to him. He still does actually.

DD is only 11 weeks old, and we just started this about 2 weeks ago. Our "quiet/cuddle" time is after her late afternoon nap. She gets her bottle while we lounge in my bed, after that, we cuddle and play a little then I read her a couple of books.

I used to read to her 3 or 4 times a day (maybe 2 books at a clip) but now that she is getting older, we just do it at night. for about 20 minutes before bed, about 5 books. she loves her books. If she comes to me during the day with them I will read them then as well.

DS LOVES books and loves to read. sometimes he'll sit and read to himself and sometimes he brings the books to us to read. It varies by day but on average we read at least 5 books a day. I know it's alot but he enjoys it.

We read every day. I try to get in 10 books a day. Sometimes it is the same book 10 times in a row because he asks for it again, and again, and again.

I feel it is vital to read to children. DS has well over 1000 words at 20 months. He can say 4 word sentences and contractions. He even does plurals on his own. I feel that this is entirely due to the fact that I read to him every day.

ets: I never intended for anyone to feel badly by what I said. I do think it is important to read to your children. While someone's child might not be able to say the words in the book, perhaps they may be able to identify the things in the book if you ask them to point to the specific item and to me that is due to the fact that you are reading to them. Every child grows and learns at their own pace.

We read on and off throughout the day, moreso in the morning and before bed. I would say a few books or the same one 3,000,000,000 times.

We read thoughout the day but mainly before nap & bedtime. 2-3 at a time.

We always read about 3 books before naps and 2 before bedtime. Generally, we read a couple more books during the day. More than that many days lately since he keeps picking up books and bringing them to us. He also sits and looks and the pictures on his own at times during the day.

DS is 7 months and we always read Pajama Time after I put his pajamas on, then we read another book or two at bedtime.

We have read to her everynight before bed, "storytime", since she was 1 month old. The number of books has increased as she's gotten older, it's now up tp 4. Sometimes throughout the day we'll read some on the fly. She likes to "read" to herself now too.

4 books before bed every night (the same books...in the same order)
During the day it's her time to read....she'll give us a book and point things out to us.

We read to both DC before bedtime everynight. It is part of our night rountine.
AJ loves his books and thru out the day he brings me books over to read. Somedays this goes on for hours, other days just a few mins. He prefers books to TV now.

ETA: I put all her books in the bottom draw of her dresser instead of the bookshelf so she could reach them. She pulls them out to read them/play with them instead of toys lots of times.

DS has a few soft books that we read to him during the day and i try to read to him at night before bed but he's usually not interested.

We read in the mornings after breakfast if we aren't going right out. Usually 3 books.

I read 2 books to her before nap.

We sometimes read together in the afternoons shortly before dinner (usually while dinner is cooking).

Other random times of the day she brings me books I read them to her or she sits and looks at books herself or "reads" them to her dolls. Books are a big part of our day. I have a spot for books in her room, the living room and her playroom.

We read her 2-3 books as a part of her bedtime routine.

I read to her while she ransacks her room in the morning LOL and we read 3 books just before bed, every night.

We read every night before bed...on the weekends we also read before his nap.
