How often do you visit the grandparents?

I am having a VERY difficult time lately with my inlaws and the stress they are causing, so I need to distant myself from them or I will go insane! Of course they can still visit Claire, but they have it in their heads that they need to see her every weekend, I was thinking every other weekend is fair and they can come to our house or DH can bring her to their house for an hour or 2. Is this normal or am I being mean? Also they live about 45 minutes away. My parents babysit while we are at work, so I dont have any issue with them.

We see my mom ("Nana") at least once a week - sometimes 2 or 3. "Grandma" (or whatever) lives in Florida and has seen my toddler twice in his almost 3 years and has yet to meet my 8 month old... but that's an entirely different post.


ETA: I'm sure DH's parents are just thrilled to be grandparents! Since they're 45 minutes away, I don't think it's "unfair" to see them 2-3 times a month. My boys only have grandmothers (our dad's passed) and will only ever know their Nana.

Jacob sees his grandparents every day. We are very close. My MIL watches him on Mondays and Fridays and Tues, wed, and thurs, i am with her out and about... shopping or whatever

My Mil watches the boys for 5 hours on Tuesdays and then an hour on Monday and Wednesday. We go over there probably once a week for thier grandpa.

My parents probably come over 3 times a week, or we go there.

We live next door to my MIL, and my mom lives 5 minutes away.

Well my MIL lives upstate and we only see her once every 2 or 3 months I don't make the effort cuz when she comes to the area she will stay by her sisters house instead of ours and she doesn't make any type of effort to see her grand daughter so if she don't bother then why should I. Now FH also has stepmother that I see once or twice a month and my mom lives in Pennsylvania and I will visit her once a month or se comes to visit me

We spend time with my parents every weekend unless they are away visiting with my nieces. ILs see Andrew a few times a month.

My parents see the kids about 3-4 times per week, my ILs see the kids maybe 1-2/month. My parents really go out of their way to do extra special stuff for the kids and sometiems just drop in with carvel, or a movie and don't even stay too long, they just make the "contact" and that is what my kids love about them so much. Even a phone call is nice, my parents talk to my kids EVERYDAY!!!

My mom sees him everyday. My inlaws live next door so they pretty much see him everyday too. My Dad sees him once a week b/c (he doesn't live close to us)

My parents take us out to dinner every Friday night and they see him at least 1-2x more a week.

My Mil and husband are snow birds so they just got back and will see him once a week.

My FIl and wife are in FLorida for at least one week a month so when they are home they see him every weekend.

I see my parents almost everyday, they live like 5 mins from me and I'm very close with my mom so we are together all the time. My in-laws live close to us to, but my DH works for his dad (family business) so my FIL will stop by every now and then to talk to my DH, and he will visit Julia while he is here, same for my MIL. My parents see more of her because I'm around them more. My inlaws know where we live so if they want to see her they can always stop by. I dont stress over it!

My ILs want me to give them Ryan every weekend- and that will never happen- they feel since im home durin the day- there is no need for me to spend time w. him on the weekends- so it should be there time...

That will never happen.....

MIL has ryan 2-3 mornings a week- and I bring Ryan there on Friday afternoon/ nights... (so about 4xs a week) They are still not satisfied with that- but tough sh!t because I think thats more than enough.....

While I was on leave and not working- theyd come about 5x's/ week

My mom comes over 2-3 times a week for about an hour, she lives in the same town as me.

My dad lives in Georgia, he was just up this weekend, before that we hadn't seen him since last summer. But we aren't close at all.

My ILs live full time in FL and come up at least 4 times a year for anywhere from 2 weeks to over a month. They demand to see her every day, and if I have other plans it turns into a huge ordeal. They are now looking for a place up here to live part time, so I guess they will be up even more often.

My inlaws want to see my DD every weekend and it turns into a whole day affair. I'm sorry, but both DH and I work full time jobs, so our time together with my daughter is very limited. So, we see the inlaws every other weekend and this works fine with me. They also don't live very close to us, so maybe if they lived closer and the visits were shorter and not an entire day, we would see them more, but for now this works just fine for me.

As for my parents, they live much closer (10 mintues away). They are always welcome to come over when ever they want, and they do stop by for quick visits, especially if they just happen to be in the neighborhood.

We see each set of Grandparents at least once a week. My parents every Monday and DH's parents every Tuesday. Lately, it's been twice a week.

I think for inlaws that live 45 minutes away, every other week is fine. I wouldn't agree to every weekend with anyone. There are weekends I want to do family things (meaning my own immediate family)...zoo, botanical gardens, beach, etc.

When my inlaws lived 25 minutes away it was every 2-3 weeks. Now that they're in FL, well...

My parents see them about once a week but they live 5 minutes away.
