How often does this happen?
The doctor tells you what you're having and when the baby is born, it was the opposite??
I don't know why this is such a fear for me!!
Everyone that I've talked it over with (finding out the sex) always says 'if the doctors right ...' !!
Is this a frequent issue!?

Re: How often does this happen?
There is no guarantee, it really is just the sono tech's experience interpreting the sono. The tech told me 95% girl. IT's scary!! The guy that i work with his nephew just a baby, and was told it was a girl, then oops, nope a penis! They had the whole thing pink!
I don't think it's a frequent thing though.

Re: How often does this happen?
I don't think it happens very often, but it does happen.
Personally, I don't know anyone this happened to. I have had 2 sonograms and they both said girl... my sister they told girl and it was.

Re: How often does this happen?
I saw that Ryan was a boy...so there was no mistaking it....But I can def understand it would be a fear...
I dont think it happens that often...but I think everyone knows that friends' Aunts' cousins' Uncles" wife that it happened too
Anyways....if it happened...youd just have a lot of returning to do!

Re: How often does this happen?
It just happened to a guy that I work with - they told him and his wife it was a girl and she had a boy. Had to repaint the nursery and return all those girl clothes! But it's very rare for this to happen.

Re: How often does this happen?
There's no guarantee but I think MOST predictions they make are correct. Trust me if it happened to be wrong when you give birth you will be surprised but so in love with that baby that you'll return all the clothes and repaint the room and not even think twice. Odds are they will be correct.

Re: How often does this happen?
I don't think it happens too much. Our last 3 sonograms showed a girl and her nursery is all pink and girly and her closet and everything else is full of pink

Re: How often does this happen?
I had an amnio done and that test is 99.9% sure and it said it was a boy, so I doubt any mishaps...LOL
At least there better not be after I prepare my nursery for a boy...LOL

Amnios are A LOT MORE reliable than sonograms. I think you're fine Bedda.

Oh no...no pressure at all. I'll just say "sweetie you don't have to play for the New York Mets if you don't want to, So what if mommy and daddy disown you"...

Oh god don't even say that. He'll need therapy. I'm gonna start before he's born to drill him into being a Mets fan!

Re: How often does this happen?
But honestly if he doesn't want a career in sports then that's fine...as long as he doesn't become a Yankee Fan.
